“Break and break” is nowadays the common greeting to the hunter about a successful hunt – even for many non-hunters. “The arms and legs break” was an earlier version of the same greeting. The language of hunting alternates between often peculiar terms that are completely meaningless to the uninitiated, and specific technical terms used in the gunsmith’s workshop and borrowed from biology, forestry and agriculture. Among these are entirely regional or even local designations or designations. Hunter Latin is another term for the hunter’s special vocabulary, and in this modern Danish edition there are a total of almost 1,200 words and phrases that are used in Danish hunting today, and which are used by hunters, as they are most. The book is aimed at all hunters and hunting enthusiasts.
