Organic and biodynamic certified Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The color is deep purple, and in the aroma you can find both red and dark berries, with strawberries, cherries, blackcurrants and blackberries particularly noticeable. There is also a beautiful and floral sensation of violets, and a sweet note of licorice. In the mouth, the wine is dense and powerful, and delivers a long and fruity aftertaste.

The vines for the wine have stood in a field where the subsoil is both sand and red clay, but most importantly, the field is covered with the stones called “Galets”, which are crucial to being able to grow proper Grenache grapes in Châteauneuf-du- Pope. The stones absorb heat during the day and release it again during the cool nights. The small impact means that Grenache is able to mature properly.

In addition to the classic Châteauneuf-du-Pape varieties, Domaine de la Mordorée uses 3% of the rare Counoise and 2% Vaccarese. Both grape varieties are extremely rare in the Rhône valley, and it is therefore a fun twist to the wine that these rare varieties are allowed to be included.

In the cellar, the grape bunches are destemmed before they ferment for 30 days in stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged for 10 months, where 20% of the must is placed in oak, while the rest is stored in steel tanks.
